Grandpa

The Weathered Hero
By: Elder Kevin F Worwood
currently serving LDS mission in Little Rock AR.

A better man I've never met, a caring soul that I won't forget.
His trademark smile he' always wore, a heart of gold so tender and pure.
The ol' red truck you could see for miles, when you saw it pass, you couldn't help but smile.
Horse rides nearly each and every day, no matter where, Grandpa knows the way.
Riding on Ol' Comet and moving along, with the sounds of his many cowboy songs.
Out on the desert or down in Nebo Creek, up to Trash Point or over on the Sanpete.
Our names can be found in many Quakes, so much fun and oh the memories it makes.
Then came winter with all the snow, "Let's call grandpa, he'll let us go!"
Whether being pulled on sleds behind the plumbing truck,
or up Sutton's getting the Blue Ford unstuck!
Summer came and it was all about the hay, irrigating, bailing, and hauling nearly every day.
He worked his whole life to build up a name, being just like grandpa will always be my aim.
I'll always remember and love him to no end,
He's my Grandpa and even more, he's my BEST FRIEND!

This just fits how we all felt this past week. It has been trough, but we know he is better where he is. Way to go Little bro.....This poem was awesome. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA AND MISS YOU ALREADY!

A sad day

Well we are having a rough day in our home today. One of the greatest men I have ever known passed away this morning....my grandpa. We have know that it has been coming for a while but it is still super hard to handle. He was such a wonderful man and a great example to all who knew him. No matter where you go, people always know Dale Worwood. We had such a wonderful weekend with him during the stampede and he was so happy. He will greatly be missed and he will for sure leave a giant hole in our lives. I love you Grandpa!

Memories

Here is a fun little game...Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together or you have with our family. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.On your mark...get set...blog your memories!!

Ute Stampede

The Annual Ute Stampede has come and gone again. My boys
Love this time of year and spending time at grandpa's. We love
the parades, the rodeo, and being with all our family. Even
Grandpa Worwood got to come see the parades. He was pretty happy.

We started out the weekend at the baby contest. Karson was so cute. He took
first place in the Novelty Division and 2nd in his age group. Kasey didn't do so
well, but he is still cute to me. The it was off to the horse parade and rodeo. The
Boys loved the one armed bandit. Friday we just relaxed until the parade and
then went to the rodeo again. Saturday we got up and went to breakfast, the car
show, the craft show, and the parade. On Saturday my dad cooks the dinner for the
stampede committee and all involved. so we help.

We love the Ute Stamped and look forward to it every year. It always seems to go by
way fast. Next year is the 75th anniversary and I am sure it will be a big one. We
are looking forward to it!

4th of JULY

The fourth of July is always something that we
look forward to. The boys love to go to Nephi to the park
and play all the games and win prizes. After we always go to
my mom and dad's for a BBQ with my mom's side of the family.
We always have so much fun just visiting. When it gets dark we all
go up to the school lawn and watch the big fireworks. They were
pretty awesome this year.

Bow Shoot in Fairview Canyon

We took the boys and went with our families to the
bow shoot. Our boys love shooting bows and so do members
of both our families. We have some good shooters in our
family. Kaleb and Kasey are learning and love it.

My mom started a few years ago and is a pretty
good shot...Watch out Dad!

Kyle my brother is really good despite
taking two years off for his mission

Karson wants to be like to big boys!

Sam hasn't shot since last season elk hunt,
but he did a really good job.

Kaleb takes it PRETTY Serious

My dad is like a pro

Sam's Sister Katie loves the outdoors
and is going to be a great hunter...

........if her arm will make it through it. She got her
arm with the string of the bow really good.

Fishin'

The boys love Fishing. Even more when they can
catch something. They got their Dad's love for the
sport. We were really reeling them in on this trip.
They even brought their Grandpa Curtis along for the fun.

Grandpa's New Toy

My dad has always wanted a
Harley Davidson. Well he had
a mid life crises and now
he owns one!

The boys think it is SO
COOL and they have to ride
every time we are there.

Even Sam took it for a
spin. By the way Sam....
it took my dad 40+ years..
so you can wait to. He
wants one really bad!
